Freighter severed towing line
On April 11, 2021, at 11.50 p.m. the 'BBC Pacific', while enroute from Kingston, Jamaica, to Tananger with a cargo of steel pipes, crossed the towing wire of the tug 'BK Marjorie' (MMSI: 232013774), which was pulling the decomissioned vessels 'Omega' (MMSI: 257271220) and 'Linga' (MMSI: 257959500) in position 58 46 53N, ong 004 53 49W, about 10 nautical miles north of Cape Wrath. The towing wire was severed, and the 'Linga' suffered damage. The 'BK Marjorie' managed to re-establish the towing line to both ships and resumed its passage to Scalloway. Also the 'BBC Pacific' was continuing its passage to Tananger with an ETA as of April 13.
