Tankers allided in Campana
**Title: Tanker Collision Shakes Operations at Campana Port** On the evening of May 4, 2026, a maritime incident unfolded in the port of Campana, located along the Paraná-Paraguay Waterway, involving the tanker 'Helios' (IMO: 9466740) and the vessel 'Ginga Bobcat.' The collision occurred at 5:36 p.m. as the 'Ginga Bobcat,' carrying a significant load of 10,300 tons of sulfuric acid from Montevideo, was navigating upstream towards the TFA terminal in Greater Rosario. At the time of the allision, the 'Ginga Bobcat' was traveling at a speed of approximately 8.6 knots and collided with the starboard stern of the stationary 'Helios,' which was in the process of loading gasoline and diesel. The collision resulted in considerable damage, breaching both the bow of the 'Ginga Bobcat' and the stern of the 'Helios,' with visible impairments above the waterline. In response to the incident, the Argentine Naval Prefecture promptly enacted safety protocols to manage the situation. The 'Ginga Bobcat' subsequently dropped anchor at position S 34° 09' N 058° 58' W following the impact. Fortunately, initial reports indicate that there were no casualties or serious injuries resulting from the collision. Coast Guard officials have been closely monitoring the area to assess structural damage to both vessels and to mitigate any potential environmental risks to the river. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to ensure the safety of maritime operations in the region. A rocket-propelled grenade launched from a small high-speed boat hit low on the vessel's bridge and left a 10-centimeter hole.
