In a heartbreaking incident, a young British crew member lost her life after falling from the mast of the yacht 'Germania Nova'. The tragedy occurred on March 15, 2017, around 2:30 PM while the vessel was docked at Erroll Flynn Marina in Jamaica. Bethany Smith, an 18-year-old from Denbighshire, was performing maintenance work at height when she tragically fell approximately 30 feet to the deck due to an apparent issue with her safety lines, which reportedly included a rope that had become undone. Despite being quickly transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries, she could not be revived.
