Civil service mariner lost over board
Charles Lee Reese, of Mississippi, a civil service mariner, has disappeared from the 'Medgar Evers' off the coast of Virginia on Sep 28, 2022, at around 10.30 a.m. The 37-hour search for him was called off in the afternoon of Sep 29. SAR crews from the Coast Guard and the Navy covered approximately 1,500-square nautical miles off the coast of southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. They diligently searched the vast area by air and sea but were unable to locate the victim. Reese reported to the 'Medgar Evers' in August. The circumstances of his disappearance are under investigation.
