Trimaran under tow to Campamento

Mar 10, 2026 12:55

**Title: Tow Operation Underway for Trimaran "Pepita Castellví" Heading to Campamento** The trimaran formerly known as "Overview," now rebranded as "Pepita Castellví," commenced its tow on the morning of March 8, 2026. The tug "Multratug 18" is tasked with transporting the vessel to Algeciras, with an expected arrival date of March 16. Upon reaching Cernaval, the trimaran will undergo a comprehensive overhaul at the Campamento Shipyard to ensure it meets operational standards. In addition to technical upgrades, the interior will be revamped to meet the specifications of Baleària, the Spanish ferry company that recently acquired the craft. The "Pepita Castellví" is slated to begin its service in the summer of 2027, potentially filling the role of the "Margarita Salas." Previously, this trimaran, which was part of the Condor Ferries fleet, had a notable 15-year operational history ferrying passengers between the Channel Islands until its decommissioning in 2025 at the port of Le Havre. Trimaran acquired by Baleària

Feb 24, 2026 13:03

The "Overview" was officially acquired by the shipping company Baleària on Feb 16. This route is heavily dependent on the CNMC's decision regarding the Canary Islands, and the final fleet adjustment for the Dénia-based shipping company will depend on that decision. The newest addition to the Baleària fleet will require the installation of a ramp and an overhaul to bring it up to standard. The 'Overview' is first trimaran to be owned by Baleària and flies the Cyprus flag.

Ferry put up for sale

Feb 10, 2025 20:33

The 'Condor Liberation' has been put up for sale. The ferry is currently still used on crossings between the Channel Islands and the south coast of England, but Jersey's government has chosen the Danish company DFDS to run its future ferry services, meaning Condor will only serve Guernsey from April. The timetable, from April onwards, does not include the 'Condor Liberation', which has its last scheduled sailing on March 23. The ship broker GRS Group is advertising a ship in the Condor pink and yellow liver for sale on its website. The trimaran has been used by Condor since 2015.

Yacht drifted onto ferry berth

Aug 26, 2020 12:02

On Aug 25, 2020, the RNLI boat from Poole was alerted at 3.50 p.m. after a 36ft yacht had broken free from its mooring and had drifted into the 'Condor Liberation' which was alongside the roro berth. When the lifeboat arrived on scene they found the yacht was against the wall in between the Condor and a Jack-up-barge. Conditions were rough with the waves bouncing up off the wall, the south westerly wind gusting 6-8 was relentless. The lifeboat went to the sheltered side of the terminal and put a member of crew ashore to access the vessel, a line was put across using a heaving line, the lifeboat then towed the yacht off the wall and brought it to a mooring in the close by Port of Poole Marina. It was evident that the vessel had broken away from its mooring as there was a broken shackle on the bow and as it was all locked up, it appeared that nobody had been on-board. As all was safe and secure the lifeboat returned to station, refuelled and wash down, it was ready for service just after 5.30 p.m. Report with photo and video: https://rnli.org/news-and-media/2020/august/26/multiple-calls-for-poole-rnli-during-storm-francis
