Container ship ran aground in Muuga
The 'CMA CGM Mermaid' allided with the quay upon is arrival at the port of Muuga, en route from Kotka on Sep 8, 2025. when it approached the berth at the container terminal and was unable to stop in time. The ship’s bow slammed head on into the quay. There were no reports of injuries, but the quay and the berth were damaged. The ship also hit the bow of the bulk carrier 'Belasitza' (IMO: 9498262). The ship had arrived at the port at 11:53 a.m. UTC and berthed at the Muuga Transiidikeskuse Container Terminal shortly after. The navigational status changed as having run aground at 03:00 p.m. UTC. The AIS went dark for almost three hours. The ship remained stationary in port as of Sep 12.
