Medevac off Pointe du Raz

A 50-year-old crew member of the 'Clipper Iris', en route from Antwerp to Houston,. was medevaced in the early morning of Feb 28, 2023, after having suffered a stroke. An NH90 Caiman helicopter of the Lanvéoc naval air base, with a doctor on board, was tasked to hoist the man 185 kilometers off the Pointe du Raz, in Finistère, after the ship requested assistance at 4:50 a.m. The sailor was airlifted at 7 a.m. and dropped off at the Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest at around 8 a.m.
