On April 27, 2022, at noon the 'Belfriend,' en route from Szczecin, requested the medical evacuation of a crew member about 38 nautical miles northwest of Cape Finisterre in the North Atlantic. The SAR helicopter Helimer 402 was mobilized from the CCS Finisterre of Salvamento Marítimo. The patient was hoisted and transferred to the Santiago airport for further transport to hospital.
