Bulk carrier resumed voyage after ceasefire
**Title: 'Banglar Joyatra' Resumes Voyage After Middle East Ceasefire** In the wake of a recently established ceasefire in the Middle East, the bulk carrier 'Banglar Joyatra' has resumed its voyage after being stranded in the Persian Gulf. The vessel, which has 31 crew members aboard, departed from Ras Al Khair port in the early hours of April 8, 2026. By midday, it was spotted at the outer anchorage of Dammam port, cruising at a speed of 8.3 knots. Carrying a substantial load of nearly 37,000 tonnes of fertilizer, the 'Banglar Joyatra' set sail from Ras Al Khair and is now on its way to the Strait of Hormuz. Following its passage through Hormuz, the ship is destined for Cape Town port. As of its latest position, the vessel is approximately 425 nautical miles from reaching the Strait of Hormuz, with an estimated crossing time of around 40 hours. The 'Banglar Joyatra' first entered the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz on February 2, having transported goods from India. After loading steel coils at a port in Qatar, it arrived at Jebel Ali on February 27. However, tensions escalated on February 28 when military operations by the USA and Israel against Iran ignited a broader regional conflict, leaving the ship trapped. Following its cargo unloading at Jebel Ali on March 11, the vessel was set to load new supplies at a port in Kuwait. Nevertheless, escalating security risks due to the ongoing conflict necessitated a delay in its operations. Now, with hostilities temporarily suspended, the 'Banglar Joyatra' is once again navigating one of the world's busiest maritime routes, eagerly advancing towards its final destination.
