Disabled ship towed to Rostock
**Title: 'Baltic Sailor' Successfully Towed to Rostock for Repairs** On May 11, 2026, the cargo vessel 'Baltic Sailor,' which was navigating from Dordrecht to Gavle, encountered a technical malfunction approximately 6.30 p.m. near the west of Fehmarn Island (Lat. 54.6705 Lng. 11.0482). In response to the emergency, the tugboat 'Fairplay 20' (IMO: 9112739) was dispatched to provide assistance. The tug successfully took the 'Baltic Sailor' in tow, guiding it towards the Rostock roadstead, where the vessel was anchored safely at coordinates 54° 14' N 011° 60' E. The following day, on May 12, three additional tugs—'Fairplay 66' (IMO: 9036258), 'Fairplay XVII' (IMO: 8918590), and 'VB Baltic' (IMO: 8915471)—joined the operation to help tow the disabled ship into Rostock's port for necessary repairs. By 12.30 p.m. UTC, the flotilla maneuvered the vessel to berth 46 in basin A of Rostock Seaport, where it officially moored around 2.30 p.m. As of May 21, the 'Baltic Sailor' remains docked at Rostock, awaiting repairs to resume its journey.
Detention in Kalajoki

After the allision of the "Baltic Sailor" with the wood pier in Brake on Feb 9, 6.40 a.m., the ship departed for Vasteras via Kiel Canal at 11.15 a.m., ETA Feb 12. The accident according to investigations was caused by a navigational mistake of the captain. The police Brake requested him to pay a safety fine of 325 Euro before the departure.
