Engine failure off Piraeus
The 'Atlantic South' with 16 crew members on board suffered a mechanical failure on March 27, 2020, while heaving up anchor at Piraeus anchorage to get a pilot on board and proceed to the port of Piraeus . The ship was detained by the harbour master and remained at anchor in pos. 37° 53.89' N 023° 32.44' E. As of afternoon Mar 28 the crew was still carrying out repairs. The ship had arrived from Split on March 26.
