Injured crew member medevaced off Ouessant
On July 6, 2014, at 0:15 a.m. the CROSS Corsen was alerted by the "Hans Lehmann" which was in the traffic separation zone off Ouessant enroute from Wismar to Casablanca, after a crew member was injured. After a conference call between the center of maritime medical consultation (CCMM) in Toulouse, the CROSS Corsen and cthe captain, at 4:50 a.m. a medical evacuation of the injured by helicopter was decided. Around 6:15 a.m., a Cayman NH 90 helicopter took off and reaches the ship at 6:25 am. The wounded man was hoisted and transported to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest where he was delivered at 7:11 a.m.
