Salvamento Marítimo has rescued a pneumatic boat that was adrift in the sea with 61 Sub-Saharan migrants, among them eight babies, and has transferred them to the island of Fuerteventura on Aug 14, 2022, at 03:40 a.m. Canarian time. The 'Oel India' had notified the Las Palmas MRCC of the boat that did not move. Salvamento Morocco was contacted, which indicated that it did not have units available in the area due to having carried out several previous rescues, and asked Salvamento Marítimo to carry out the rescue. The SAR vessel 'Guardamar Polimnia' was mobilized, arriving at the scene around 08:00 a.m., and rescued the 61 people, including 45 men, eight women and eight babies.
