Collision in Singapore Strait
The tanker 'Xin Jin Yang' was in collision with with the 'Danum 160' on Jan 22, 2020, around 9 p.m. in the western Singapore Strait east of Karimunbesar Island. Both ships were sailing in the same direction at the time of collision. The tanker which was in loaden condition had to interrupt the voyage from Iraq to China via Singapore and moored on Karimun Anchorage in pos. 01° 5.98' N 103° 29.82' E near the collision site for inspections. The container ship continued its voyage from Port Klang to Kuching, Borneo island.
