The 'Oslofjord' encountered technical problems on Oct 6, 2019, and operator Fjordline therefore canceled all sailings between Strömstad and Sandefjord. The problems started when the ferry was preparing to leave the port of Strömstad with passengers and cars being already on board. The engines did not react, and all had to be unloaded again. The company called in technicians for repairs. All affected customers have been notified. The ferry left the port of Strömstad again after troubleshooting on Oct 7 at noon and arrived in Sandefjord at 2.30 p.m.

The "Oslofjord" had to return to Sandefjord after its departure at 3.20 p.m. in the afternoon of May 30, 2017, after having encountered technical problems on its way to Strömstad. Simultaneously one of the passengers suffered health trouble and needed medical attention. The lifeboat "Stormbull" came to assist the patient. The "Oslofjord" was taken back to the dock in Sandefjord by the tug "Boa Sund" at 8.30 p.m. and the 180 passengers were disembarked. The engine failure was resolved during the night, and the 8.30 a.m. departure from Sandefjord on May 31 took place as scheduled. On July 8, 2014, the "Oslofjord" suffered a failure of one of the two main engines on the Sandefjord-Strømstad trip. The scheduled 1 p.m. sailing had to be canceled, More than 600 passengers were affected by the cancellation. The ferry docked with the one remaining engine, was flushed and sailed to Thorøya one one engine where technical staff started to check the issues with the main engine. Also the sailings of the "Bohus" from Strømstad were affected due to the problems with the "Oslofjord", and the ferry could enter the inner harbor only more than a half hour late.
