Cargo ship diverted from Taranto to Manfredonia due to controversy about emissions
The owner of the 'Daiana' has decided to dock at the industrial port of Manfredonia on Aug 16, 2021, after a controversy, in Taranto, for the authorization of the Province for the handling of powdery materials in bulk and the related emissions into the air. The cargo ship was carrying sulfur tablets, which would not cause dust. The regulatory chaos may have convinced the Neapolitan company that owns the ship to speed up the times and to choose the port of Manfredonia. After cargo opearation, the ship sailed again on Aug 20 at 4.25 p.m., headed to Piombino.
