Ship fined for water pollution
On Oct 29, 2017, officials of the water police station Brunsbüttel controlled the "Kestrel 1" in the Elbe Port. In the course of the inspection they found that the sewage plant was not functioning properly and that on the journey from Huelva to Brunsbüttel about 500 liters of insufficiently purified wastewater had been discharged into German territorial waters. The forces filed a lawsuit for water pollution and a security deposit of $ 265 had to be paid. The ship sailed on to Ust-Kuga on Nov 30 at 3.50 a.m., ETA Dec 4.
