Medevac on Mersey
The 38 years old second engineer suffered an amputated thumb aboard the 'Cumbrian Fisher', while working in the engine room off New Brighton in pos. 53 25 40.2 N, 03 00 58.8 W on Oct 7, 2022, at 09.10 a.m. UTC. Assistance was required for the evacuation of the injured. The Holyhead MRCC coordinatied the response. An SAR helicopter was mobilized, the vessel berthed in port and an ambulance conveyed the casualty to hospital. The SAR operation was finished at around 11 a.m.
