Largest ship ever in Jeddah
The "CSCL Star" on June 21, 2011, was the largest ship ever to call at Jeddah. It berthed at the newly opened Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT), Jeddah Islamic Port's flagship terminal, CSCL Star on its first Red Sea call. With a declared capacity of 14,100 TEU, the "CSCL STAR" at the same time is one of the world's largest container ships, having been delivered by Samsung Heavy Industries only in January 2011.

The new CSCL Star is due to make her maiden call at the Port of Felixstowe on Friday February 18th 2011 eta approx 17:00 GMT. She is due to berth alongside the newly constructed berths 8 & 9 at the Port of Felixstowe. It is expected that the top most layer of container will be unloaded, the ship will then later be manoeuvred over to Trinity Terminal, where the remainder of her container operations will be completed.
