The "Crystal Pioneer" on Feb 19, 2010, rescued 20 survivors of the sinking of the s/v "Concordia" from a liferaft on its way from Amsterdam to San Lorenzo, jointly with the "Hokuetsu Delight" all 64 crew members and students aboard were rescued and taken to Rio de Janeiro, arriving there in the afternoon of February 20. The ship resumed its voyage the same day.
