Suspicious Containers from "Cristina A" under watch at Ctg port
Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has kept all the containers unloaded from a foreign vessel under observation suspecting illegal items or explosives in any of those. The containers have been placed in different yards of the port, said CPA Director (security) Lt Col Moazzem Hossain. Turkish-flagged cargo vessel Cristina A, carrying 973 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) containers, berthed at the jetty No 13 of Chittagong Port around 1:00pm on Friday. A government intelligence agency on that day verbally informed the CPA authorities about their suspicion and asked the port officials not to deliver the consignments without examination.
