Crew member fell ill and died on board
A 49-year-old crew member died aboard the "Côtes de Bretagne" after falling ill in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc. The CROSS Corsen M in Brest was called on Nov 6, 2025, at 9:20 p.m., for a medical emergency. The SNSM station in Saint-Quay-Portrieux responded to the incident.Despite CPR administered to the sailor, he died.
Dredger extracted bomb
On June 19, 2011, the regional rescue center at Etek was informed that the "Côtes de Bretagne" had extracted a bomb off Bordeaux. The CROSS Etel informed the Naval Operation Center at Brest which requested a EC 225 helicopter from the naval air base Lanvéoc-Poulmic and a team of explosive disposal divers from the group of deminers from Brest. At 1.35 p.m. the EC 225 took off to the coast of Brittany where the dredger was positioned in the Gironde estuary about 3 km southwest of Meschers-en-Gironde. A diver and four deminers were winched onto the dredger and destroyed the bomb at 3.55 p.m.
