Container ship drifted off Parashumir Island
A Russian patrol plane on May 31, 2015, observed the drifting "COSCO Japan" in position 49 03N 158 13E, 120 miles east of Paramushir Island in the northern Kuril Archipelago. The container ship was en route from Shanghai to Prince Rupert. Meanwhile it resumed sailing at reduced speed, changing course and heading for Japan with an ETA of June 7.
