Medevac off Hartlepool
On Jan 31, 2021, around 7.50 a.m the 'Coral Stichy' reported that a crew member had fallen seriously ill three miles off Hartlepool. He had suffered a suspected stroke. The Hartlepool RNLI volunteer crew members were paged at 7.50 a.m. by Humber Coastguard about the incident. The RNLI all-weather lifeboat and crew launched at 8.10 a.m. and were alongside the vessel 8 minutes later. Two crew members went aboard the ship where they assessed the condition of the male and administered casualty care. Coastguard helicopter arrived a short time later and lowered a paramedic onto the deck of the ship who also took care of the patient. The casualty and paramedic were later winched into the helicopter where it then made its way to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough. Tanker disabled off Cuxhaven
On Jan 9, 2015, the "Coral Sticho" suffered engine damage off Brunsbüttel. The ship had come from Bützfleth. The tug "Wulf 7" held the tanker in position on Neufeld Roads for several hours until it could be moored at the Mützelfeldt Yard at 11 p.m.
Anthony Veder announced naming ceremony for new LNG fueled 'Coral Sticho'
Anthony Veder has announced that a naming ceremony has been held for two LNG-powered sea vessels, which will carry liquid ethylene gas (LEG) from SABIC’s Wilton facility on Teesside, UK, to manufacturing plants in North-West Europe and Scandinavia. “We are delighted to welcome the Coral Star and Coral Sticho into Teesport. The arrival of these industry leading LNG-fuelled vessels on Teesside demonstrates a significant commitment by SABIC to the industry and ultimately the River Tees”, said Jerry Hopkinson, Managing Director at ports operator PD Ports.
