Color-Magic

The "Color Magic" and the "Color Fantasy" were unable to depart from Kiel and Oslo on time on Jan 5, 2026.. The reason were IT problems at the shipping company Colorline, which affected ship operations. Due to the system error, passengers could only pay in cash on board and also reported problems with the check-in. Passengers were also informed via loudspeaker that only cash payments were currently being accepted on board. The staff worked feverishly to resolve the issue. Both ships were originally scheduled to leave Kiel and Oslo at 2:00 p.m. However, the "Color Magic" remained fully loaded and waiting at the dock in Kiel throughout the afternoon. After the system malfunction was resolved, it was able to depart at 5:10 p.m. The "Color Fantasy" remained in Oslo until 5.30 p.m. A delay in Oslo and simultaneously in Kiel is unprecedented. It was not yet clear whether a hacker attack or sabotage of the IT system was the cause. The cause was currently being investigating.

The 'Color Magic', with about 2,000 passengers on board en route from Oslo to Kiel was without water for hours on the afternoon of Nov 23, 2025. The ferry left the dock at 2:00 p.m. Parts of it have been without water since 4:00 p.m. There was no water in the communal toilets or in the cabins. The water supply had to be stopped to investigate a leak that turned out to be bigger than initially thought. Crew members worked tirelessly to fix the leak. Shortly after 7:30 p.m. the water was back. The ship arrived in Kiel on Nov 24 at 10:00 a.m.

The 'Color Magic' with about 2,000 passengers on board en route from Oslo to Kiel, was without water for over three hours on Aug 3, at around 4 p.m., two hours after the departure. The situation arose due to a water leak. There was is neither water in the communal toilets nor in the cabins. Passengers were concerned about hand hygiene and serving without water. The crew was working on the problem At 7:40 p.m., the water was back on the ferry. The ship had left the dock in Oslo at 2 p.m. and arrived in Kiel on the morning of Aug 4.

On April 11, a patient needed to be medevaced from the 'Color Magic', en route from Oslo to Kiel, by the Danish Defence. At 12.09 a.m., a rescue helicopter from Aalborg hoisted the person from the ferry, which was in a position north of Anholt, and transported him to a hospital ashore for further medical care.
