Ship still aground one year after accident
Grounded off Arsuz, Iskenderun Bay, in 36 25 N 35 51 E, 19 As of Aug 14, there was no development in regard of a wreck removal of the "Arama 1", which had run aground on Aug 19, 19, 2017, off Arsuz in the Iskenderun Bay, in pos. 36 25 N 35 51 E. The ship had suffered hull damage and water ingress.
Divers inspected grounded ship
Divers have made a detailed underwater inspection of the "Arama 1", and the detailed survey report will be forwarded to the Harbour Master's technical desk. The vessel remained stationary at ots grounding position, The hip had grounded off Arsuz, Iskenderun Bay, in pos. 36 25 N 35 51 E, on Aug 19, 2017, and suffered hull damage and water ingress.

Turkish research vessel ARAMA I grounded on Aug 19 or 20 on Turkish coast rocks near Arsuz, southern Anatolia, in Gulf of Iskenderun, eastern Med. Hull said to be breached, engine room and other compartments, including laboratiories, flooded. No other information available at the moment. On a photo partially submerged ARAMA I resting on bottom of rocky coast.
