Ferry adrift off Bodrum
When sailing between Bodrum and Kos island the "Akçakoca" was disabled by an engine failure with 169 passengers and a crew of four on board on Nov 18, 2018, at 11 a.m. and went adrift on the outskirts of Karaada upon its return from Kos. The Turkish Coastguard and the lifeboat "Kiuyem-2" came to assist. The lifeboat took the vessel in tow and pulled it to Bodrum where the passengers were safely disembarked and repairs started.
