Borealis takes on another boxship
Christoph Toepfer-led Borealis Finance has announced the acquisition of the 2009-built 4,563 teu containership for a price of $10.75m. The vessel, formerly named CPO Jacksonville, was sold by German owner Offen Claus-Peter and has already been delivered to Borealis.
Minor fire on container ship
On Sep 9, 2019, at 1 p.m a fire broke out on the aft deck of the "Debussy" while the vessel was transiting the Strait of Georgia in position 49 05 54.9 N, 123 18 42.1 W enroute from Seattle to Vancouver. The crew managed to extinguish the fire which was described as minor. The ship berthed in Vancouver on Sep 10 at 1.15 a.m. and proceeded to Los Angeles on Sep 11 at 2.30 a.m. with an ETA as of Sep 15.
