Shifting containers trapped longshoreman
On Dec 18, 2016, at 1.53 p.m. firefighters were alerted after a longshoreman was trapped between two containers at Berth 57 aboard the "Seaspan Chiwan". Some containers shifted, injuring the man’s leg and trapping them. The biggest trouble was getting the docker off the ship because of a narrow platform to the dock. Firefighters used a small container on a crane to lift the longshoreman off. He was taken to Highland Hospital with injuries that needed attention in the hospital’s trauma center.
