Freighter broke down in German Bight
The "Clara" suffered engine trouble in the German Bight, enroute from Aveiro to Szczecin on Feb 19, 2026, at around 7 p.m. UTC (Lat. 53.9150 Lng. 7.2283), north of Norderney. Searching for a suitable emergency berth, the crew chose the tide-free inner harbour of Wilhelmshaven. From there, the tugs "VB Bremen" (IMO 9211212) and "VB Berne" (IMO: 8500422) set off, took the vessel in tow, and brought it safely to the Northwest Quay in Wilhelmshaven on Feb 20, where repairs were still underway as of Feb 23.
