Medevac off Kirkcaldy
Kinghorn RNLI Lifeboat’s volunteer crew was called out in the evening of Dec 28, 2020, to evacuate a sick crewmember from the 'Christian Essberger' which was anchored off Kirkcaldy. The lifeboat was called at 4.22 p.m. after the HM Coastguard received a call for assistance reporting that a crewmember was suffering from a deteriorating medical condition on the product tanker. The lifeboat launched at 4.30 p.m. and was alongside the tanker six minutes later where the casualty was able to make his way down the ladder onto the lifeboat. He was prepared for the short journey back to Kinghorn and returned to the lifeboat station. He was assessed and looked after the casualty until an ambulance arrived.
