Luxury yacht detained due to tax fraud
On Sep 21, 2013, the "Air" was detained by the financial administration in the Club de Mar in Palma de Mallorca. The ship is registered on the Isle of Man and owned by the Ialian businessman Augusto Perfetti, the third largest producer of confectionery such as chewing gum or candy. Tax authority officials are accusing the owners of the ship of tax fraud, because the vessel was offered on various websites for charter for one million dollars per week. However, the yacht obviously did not have a license, so the owner will now have to pay 20 million Euros before the ship is released.
