Engine trouble off Rame Head
The 'Chem New York', en route from Antwerp to Camden, United States, with 21 crew members on board, suffered a problem with its main engine cooling jacket in position 49 43 14 N, 004 08 37 W, about 35 miles south of Rame Head in the morning of Feb 8, 2020. The vessel was carrying a cargo of 17916 tonnes cargo. It required one hour to investigate and conduct repair works while drifting eastwards away from land. Communication with the vessel was established in one-hour time. At 8 a.m. the engine problem had been rectified and the tanker was under way again with an ETA as of Feb 18.
