Crew member pronounced dead after medevac
The Port Authority of Kalamata was informed in the afternoon of June 25, 2021, that a 45-year-old crew member of the 'Chemical Voyager', which sailed 70 nautical miles southwest of the Pylos prefecture en route from Rotterdam to Gebze, ETA June 27, needed immediate hospital treatment. An Air Force helicopter immediately took off and hoisted the patient, who was transported to the Kalamata military airport, where he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the Kalamata General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Central Port Authority of Kalamata.
