Man thought to have climbed from ship
Since July 28, 2020, firefighters, carabinieri and military have been looking for a 30 year old Algerian crew member of the 'Cheikh Bounamama' which was moored at the pier of the Panigaglia regasification terminal and has vanished from board. The carabinieri interrogated the crew and identified the point where the man seems to have got off the ship with a rope, which was fixed to the bridge for safety reasons and should only be used in an emergency. The firefighters divers have already carried out a first survey in the water at the ship's dock without results. On July 30 another dive was carried out after the departure of the ship on its way to Skikda. The plant's security cameras did not pick up suspicious movements.
