Eight stowaways discovered on tanker in Lagos
The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft has arrested eight stowaways on board the 'Charminar' in pos. 06 18 21 N, 003 23 58 E, at the Lagos anchorage on Sep 28, 2023, at 2 a.m. They were arrested by a patrol team during a routine patrol, ased on actionable intelligence, while they were attempting to exit the country. The stowaways were apprehended inside the vessel?s rudder compartment by the patrol team. In the course of the operation, various items were seized, including mobile phones, provisions, and miscellaneous items.
