MEdevac off Saint Nazaire
A Ukrainian sailor, plagued by psychological problems, was taken off the 'Aiantas' by the SNSM of Pornic on April 13, 2020, off Saint-Nazaire. The ship had contacted the CROSS Etel after the 24-year-old Ukrainian, developed psychological problem, after the ship had left the port of Montoir-de-Bretagne on April 8 and has since been waiting for orders in the Bay of Biscay. The decision was made to evacuate the sailor. The bulkcarrier therefore headed towards Saint-Nazaire and rendezvoused with the lifeboat 'SNS 200 - Pays de Retz' from Pornic at the height of Couronnée. An ambulance transffered him to the Saint-Nazaire hospital on April 14 shortly after midnight.
