Carnival Cruise Line has announced significant delays to several ships in the fleet due to the approaching Hurricane Milton. The cruise line has already informed guests that a cruise on the 'Carnival Paradise' has been cancelled and that the ship, while not cancelled yet, would not be able to return to port on Oct 10, 2024. The arrival of the 'Carnival Valor' in Miami on Oct 10 would be delayed. The 'Carnival Sunrise' would not be returning to Miami as scheduled on Oct 10. The 'Carnival Glory' would not be returning to Port Canaveral on Oct 11. Passengers were assured on Oct 9 that they would be kept updated on the situation and provided with available options as soon as possible.

A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew carried out the medevac of a passenger from the 'Carnival ValorÄ near Southwest Pass, La., on Sep. 27, 2023. The aircrew transported the woman, who reportedly had stroke like symptoms, to emergency medical personnel awaiting at Air Station New Orleans. The US Coast Guard and the 'Carnival Valor' rescued three boaters aboard a vessel taking on water 386 miles offshore Alabama, on March 26, 2023. Coast Guard District Eight watchstanders received an EPIRB alert at 7:22 a.m. from the 44-foot recreational vessel 'Snail Mail'. Watchstanders contacted the owner of the boat who stated they were shoreside, but in contact with the three boaters aboard the 'Snail Mail' via a SPOT GPS device and confirmed the boat was taking on water. Using the AMVER system to survey the area around the Snail Mail for nearby commercial vessels, watchstanders identified and directed the 'Carnival Valor' to assist the distressed vessel. Meanwhile, watchstanders also coordinated the launch of an Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew to assist. The Ocean Sentry aircrew located the 'Snail Mail' and vectored the 'Carnival Valor to its location. The cruise ship arrived on scene, launched their rescue boat, rescued all three boaters, and transferred them back to the ship to be medically evaluated by the ship's doctor.
