On the morning Oct 6, 2025, the 'Capri Jet', while departing from the Molo Beverello in Naples with 290 passengers on board, bound for Sorrento and Positano, suffered an engine room fire shortly after leaving the port, and was left without propulsion in the busy waters, where hydrofoils depart and arrive for the Phlegraean Islands. The ship returned to the quay with the help of two tugs and a pilot boat. Once moored, the passengers and nine crew members went ashore. No injuries were reported. On Oct 3, 2017, around 10.30 a.m. the "Capri Jet" was in collision with a yacht in the Gulf of Naples, a few miles from the mouth of Molo Beverello. the ferry had sailed from Capri at 9.35 a.m. and headed to Naples, when a Pershing motoryacht navigating in the opposite direction slammed into the ferry. The impact was violent, both units reported damage. Rescue operations were in progress.The captain of the ferry asked the spassengers to wear life jackets, fearing the hydrofoil, which was damaged at the port side bow, could take on water. There were about 100 passsengers on board. Shortly after the accident, the Italian coastguard arrived with a doctor. There were, however, no reported injuries.
