DFDS is selling the 'Cappadocia Seaways' after 23 years of service in the frame of an adjustment of the company's total fleet and an adjustment of capacity in the Mediterranean. The sale means that the 'Selandia Seaways' (IMO: 9157284), which is 197 meters long and has a capacity of up to 2,772 lane meters, corresponding to 177 trailers, actually serving on the route Mersin-Trieste, will be deployed on the route between Tunis and Marseille, while the freight ferry 'Gallipoli Seaways' will replace the 'Cappadocia Seaways' on the Mersin–Trieste route. The Tunis-Marseille route has seen steady volume growth over the years.

In the night of May 26, 2022, the Port Authority of Heraklion was informed by the JRCC that a 53-year-old crew member of the 'Cappaocia Seaways', which was sailing north of Crete, needed immediate hospital treatment. A Greek Air Force helicopter immediately took off, which hoisted the patient and transported him to Heraklion International Airport, where he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to Heraklion University General Hospital for a medical examination.
