Fuel nozzle replaced

May 07, 2019 13:29

The "Ginny" made a controlled stoppage whilst proceeding westbound in the English Channel Traffic Separation Scheme to conduct an assessment of an alleged malfunction of its main engine on May 6, 2019, at 8 a.m. in pos. 50 25 04 N, 000 41 23 W. In order to mitigate any navigational threat and for reasons of extra safety the vessel's captain, before making the controlled stop, consulted with the HM Coast Guard and technical operator and then made the decision to slow down and stop at a safe agreed place. The engine crew and technical superintendent investigated the occurrence and the crew carried out a nozzle replacement. After testing, the vessel resumed the voyage shortly after 9 a.m. It was en route from Antwerp to Lagos with a crew of 22 on board with an ETA as of May 20.
