The "Canka", while en route from Ambarli to Annaba, Algeria, suffered a mechanical failure in position 037 48 52 N, 023 29 01 E, approximately 4.9 miles from Aegina, on Jan 8, 2019, at 3 a.m. The vessel has been anchored and detained by port authorities until the completion of permanent repairs and issue of seaworthiness certificate. After repairs, the ship passed the Messina Strait on Jan 13 and berthed at the Roda Liman Container Terminal in Gemlik on Jan 25 at 12.25 a.m.
