Rudder and propulsion trouble
The 'Caldera Vista' with 92 people on board, suffered a malfunction of the rudder and propulsion mechanism of the port side engine in the morning of July 5, 2022. As the vessel was berthed in the port of Syros, the passengers and their vehicles on board were disembarked again and forwarded to their destinations by another vessel. The Port authority prohibited the departure of the vessel until the defects were rectified and a class maintenance certificate was issued.
Crew member injured during cleaning works
The Port Authority of Rethymno was informed on May 25, 2022, at noon by the Captain of the 'Caldera Vista' about the injury of a sailor who was cleaning machines inside the ship. The victim was transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Rethymnon for the provision of first aid. A preliminary investigation is carried out by the Rethymnon Port Authority.

The 'Caldera Vista', while operating its scheduled route from the ports of Karystos, Andros, Tinos to Syros with 31 passengers on board, allided with the pier in Syros with its port side stern on Sep 24, 2021, during the berthin manoever.
