Tanker continues to be detained
The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) on March 8, 2022, confirmed that the Saudi-Emirati coalition continued to detain the 'Caesar' and was delaying its release. The Saudi coalition, by its delay in releasing the ship, was ignoring all calls to neutralize the humanitarian file and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people who were experiencing the largest humanitarian crisis in full view of the United Nations and the world. The YPC had previously received information that the Saudi-led coalition had agreed to release two ships, one of which was the “Caesar.” Until this moment, the ship had not moved from the detention area to the port of Hodeida, despite obtaining prior permits from the UN Verification and Inspection Committee.
Sold
sold to Nigerian buyers, for a price in the region $7.5m.
