Bulk carrier assisted distressed migrants
In the morning of Nov 1, 2022, the European agency Frontex gave notice of the presence of a distressed boat about ten miles southeast of Gibraltar. Salvamento Marítimo deployed the SAR boat 'Salvamar Denebola' and notified the ships in the area. The 'Aggelos B', en route from Morehead City to Port Said, escorted the kayak until the arrival of the rescue vessel at 1:30 p.m., which took on board the two castaways, both adult males of North African origin. They were transferred to the Port of Algeciras, where they arrived at around 2:30 p.m. The 'Aggelos B' continued on its way to Egypt.
