Detention in Guangzhou
The 'Bristol Trader' was detained in Guangzhou on Jan 21, 2026, following an inspection by the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control. During an initial inspection, eight deficiencies were identified, three of which were being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention. After the shortcomings were addressed, the tanker was released following a re-inspection and left the port on Jan 22, enroute to Hong Kong, where it arrived on Jan 24. On Jan 25 it sailed again, headed to Balboa with an ETA as of Feb 26.
