In the afternoon of Aug 12, the m/v 'E.R. Bristol', en route from Oran To Gibraltar, sighted a drifting patera seven nautical miles away from Mesa Roldán. The MRCC of Salvamento MarĂtimo in AlmerĂa asked the ship to escort the boat and mobilized the 'Salvamar Spica', who rescues the 16 people who were on board, and transferred them to AlmerĂa.
