Detention in Iskenderun
The 'Brilliance' was detained at the port of Iskenderun on Oct 15, 2025, by the Mediterranean MoU authorities. The ship underwent a detailed inspection, during which 14 deficiencies were revealed, four of which were being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention. The inspectors checked various areas, including the ballast tanks, cargo holds, engine room, navigation bridge, outside decks, and steering room. Operational drills observed included communication equipment and emergency fire pumps. The bulk carrier was released again on Oct 18.
