Containership collides with hopper off Busan port, suffers breach in fuel tank, heavy oil spill
HYUNDAI BRIDGE and hopper 107 DAEYANG collided on Dec 28 shortly after midnight some 2 nm southeast of Busan port, Korea, Japan sea. HYUNDAI BRIDGE suffered a 2x4m breach in fuel tank area, with resulting oil leak. At least 350 tons of fuel said to be spilled. Vessel is anchored on Busan outer road and surrounded by booms, cleaning under way. It is understood, that the hopper suffered small damages.
