Swell shifted berthed bulkcarrier
On March 6, 2020, the 'Erisort' was shifted at its mooring at the Rhenus pier in Nordenham when another vessel, the 'Kumpula' (IMO: 9590802), which was sailing downbound on the Weser, eroute from Bremen to Kokkola, passed the berth at 6.30 p.m. with more thant 13 knots speed. The ship was sailing against the stream which increased the swell which caught the 'Erisort' and moved it some meters, causing damage to the pier where a bollard was broken out. The operator of a port crane remakrked the movement in time and caught up with the movement, avoiding a collision. The police launched an investigation against the master of the responsible bulkcarrier. The 'Erisort' sailed again on March 14 at 7 a.m. and headed to Hamburg, where it berthed at the Kali Quay on the Rethe on March 17 at 6.20 a.m. German report with photo: https://www.nwzonline.de/wesermarsch/blaulicht/nordenham-unfall-bei-nordenham-zu-schnelles-schiff-verursacht-schaeden-an-pier_a_50,7,2388253542.html
